
Freya Holliman is in her fifth and final year of studies at the University of Glasgow for a Joint Masters degree in French and Music. Her first singing teacher was Heather Fryer and for the last three years she has studied with Patricia Hay.
Since 2008, Freya has sung in the University of Glasgow Chapel Choir under the direction of James Grossmith, where she holds the Lanfine Choral Scholarship. In 2009, Freya toured Tuscany with the choir, singing in many prestigious venues including the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence.
Out with the university, Freya has been a member of the National Youth Choir of Scotland since 2008, performing in many venues around Britain including the Usher Hall, The Royal Festival Hall and The Sage Gateshead. In 2010, Freya went to Germany as part of the NYCoS tour choir, singing in cathedrals in Brandenburg, Dresden and Leipzig. Freya has also sung as part of the NYCoS Chamber Choir and in 2011 premièred two pieces with the world-renowned Kronos Quartet in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
Solo performances include the Rutter Magnifcat with the University of Glasgow Chapel Choir and Goodall Eternal Light under the direction of Derek Clark. She has also performed solo recitals for the University.
